Thanks to Kennebunk Savings Bank and Our Supporters
Once a year the Kennebunk Savings Bank donates a percentage of it’s annual profit back into the communities it serves. The bank sends ballots with statements to each customer and asks that they check off their favorite organization. The organizations and the funds received are determined by the KSB customers’ votes.
On June 28th, Another Chance had the honor of receiving a check from Kennebunk Savings Bank’s Vice-President Dale Barrows. This very generous donation will aid in the care of the many animals that Another Chance Animal Rescue assists. We would like to thank everyone who voted for us along with a thank you to Kennebunk Savings Bank for their generosity! We are proud to have The Kennebunk Savings Bank in our community.
The Katrina survivors have all been adopted!
On Friday, November 4th at 10AM, Another Chance received seven dogs and four cats from the Katrina hurricane disaster. The animals were brought north by Shelby Monroe and Mary Breen, longtime supporters of Another Chance, who said choosing from the hundreds of animals still homeless was heartwrenching. (See more arrival pictures!)
Of the seven dogs, six have tested positive for heartworm and will need to be treated, all seven have hookworm, six need to be neutered/spayed and all need to receive current vaccinations, costing the rescue hundreds of dollars per animal. The four cats are in a similar situation needing to be neutered/spayed along with other medical care. All the survivors will be receiving their medical treatments through Post Road Veterinary Clinic in Wells, Maine.
Donations to help defray their medical cost may be sent to:

Your help will be greatly appreciated!
All of the animals have gone to loving new homes. Visit our dogs page to see the other wonderful dogs who need homes. Despite the trauma they've been through, these dogs are amazingly friendly and thirsty for love and attention.

Justice For Dewey
Dewey, 2, abducted and drowned in staged burglary
plot... We would like all who have been touched by
the death of this little dog to show their support by attending the court
hearings. We will be there. We hope that you will attend. Read more about Dewey.
*Court Appearances*
9/27/05 - Erin Wylie pleaded guilty on all charges in Rockingham Superior Court in NH. She will serve one year in prison for animal cruelty. Although it doesn't seem long enough, it does send a message to animal abusers and provides at least some justice for Dewey.
Join us to hold signs outside and/or to attend the hearings. The more of a presence we have, the more attention we bring to the issue of animal abuse. (These are peacful, courteous gatherings.)
